Ocean Pools Group started from frustration with unreliable contractors, poor workmanship, and constant project delays that left homeowners stressed and disappointed. What should have been a source of joy often became a burden. From this challenge, a new vision was born — one rooted in raising the standard of pool construction and service in South Africa. In the very beginning, the company operated with just one dedicated team, taking on every project hands-on and building the foundation of its reputation through consistency, hard work, and attention to detail.
First Pool Technichians Team
For the first six years, the business was run with just one dedicated team, built on hands-on work, long hours, and a commitment to getting every project right. After years of consistent growth, trust, and client demand, the company expanded and brought in its first additional team of five pool technicians. That milestone marked a turning point—strengthening capacity while staying true to the same standards of quality and care that built the foundation of Ocean Pools Group.
Adapting To Digital Transformation
The turning point for Ocean Pools Group came in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, when the industry and customer behaviour changed rapidly. Lockdowns and restrictions disrupted traditional operations, while clients increasingly turned to online platforms to find, evaluate, and trust service providers. Referrals alone were no longer sufficient—visibility became essential. This period forced the business to rethink how it operated and communicate its value digitally for the first time. Ocean Pools Group began building its digital footprint through social media, project documentation, and online engagement. This shift transformed the company, blending hands-on craftsmanship with a strong digital presence for sustainable growth.
